86/14, and every deduction in writing
The three questions every operator asks a recruiter — answered here, in numbers you can check against your settlement.
“How much do I actually keep?”
86%of the gross — linehaul plus fuel surcharge — on every load. Detention, layover, TONU and lumpers come to you at 100%. Nothing is layered on top of the 14%.
“What comes out of my check?”
$650a week, three lines, published to the dollar: insurance $350, trailer $200 if you rent ours, admin $100. Escrow $250 for the first ten weeks only, and you get it back.
“When do I see the money?”
Fridayevery week by direct deposit, contingent on nothing — we carry the broker risk. Need it sooner? Same-day quick pay on POD for 5%, your call, load by load.
The split
86% of the gross to you, 14% to Mondo Motion. Gross is linehaul plus fuel surcharge, as shown on the rate confirmation you get before you accept.
Accessorials are not split. Detention, layover, TONU, stop-off and lumpers come to you at 100%.
The 14% covers dispatch, billing, collections, credit risk and compliance. Nothing is layered on top of it.

| Contingent on the broker paying us? | No — never |
| Rate confirmation | Sent before every load |
| Quick pay | Same day on POD, 5% fee — your choice, load by load |
| Cash / fuel advances | Up to 40% of the load once it is booked, flat $15–$25 fee |

Deductions
| Item | Weeks 1–10 | Week 11 on |
|---|---|---|
| Cargo & liability insurance | $350 | $350 |
| Trailer rental (optional) | $200 | $200 |
| Admin fee | $100 | $100 |
| Escrow | $250 | $0 |
| Total per week | $900 | $650 |
Bring your own 53' dry van and those totals drop to $700 and $450.
The $350 in context: on your own authority, liability and cargo for one truck typically run $1,100–$1,600 a month — and you shop, underwrite and renew it yourself.
The rate you see is the rate
you are paid on.
The rate confirmation reaches your phone before you accept. Your 86% is computed from that number, not from a number you find out about later.

What the statement actually looks like
Every Friday: each trip, its miles and rate, your 86% on each, then every deduction by name. This is a real one — statement 2026-34, work period August 17–23, 2026, one of our solo owner-operators out of Florida. Only his name, address and load numbers are hidden.

How to read it
- Gross → your 86%. Four loads, 3,282 miles, $9,350.00 gross. 9,350 × 0.86 = $8,041.00. Check it on a phone calculator; that is the point.
- Payout. $8,041.00 minus $3,988.31 in deductions = $4,052.69 deposited Friday.
- Fuel, $2,588.31. He fuels on the Mondo Motion card, so fuel comes out here at cost. Fuel on your own card: this line is $0.
- Escrow, $250. Week 4 of 10: $1,000 held so far, $1,500 to go, then it stops at $2,500 and comes back within 45 days of leaving.
- Plate program, $500. The last of four. His plate was $2,000, not $2,500: he referred a driver, and the $500 referral bonus was credited against the plate instead of paid out. Standard is $2,500 over five weeks.
- Fixed $650. Admin $100, cargo & liability $350, trailer $200. Own trailer: $450.
Same week, later on
what changesTruck payment, maintenance, tires and taxes come out of the deposit. One week, one driver — not a promise of yours.

What you still pay for
Some costs stay yours. Better now than in week two.
| Cost | Whose | Typical |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel | Yours | Roughly $1,600–$2,000 a week at 3,000 miles and 6.5 mpg |
| Tractor payment, maintenance, tires | Yours | Your numbers |
| Physical damage on your tractor | Yours | Your policy. Your lienholder will require it anyway. |
| Non-trucking / bobtail liability | Optional | Not required by Mondo Motion. Worth carrying — our liability covers you under dispatch, not on personal use. |
| Occupational accident coverage | Optional | Not required by Mondo Motion. You are a contractor, so there is no workers' comp behind you — most operators carry it. |
| Trailer maintenance (our trailer) | Ours | Included in the $200 |
| ELD and PrePass | Ours | No charge |
| IFTA, UCR, BOC-3, authority | Ours | No charge |
| IRP plate (if you need one) | Yours, we front it | $2,500 one-time, paid by us up front and recovered at $500 a week over five settlements. Plate program → |
| Orientation and the drug test | Ours | No charge, no travel |
| Taxes | Yours | You are paid on a 1099 as a business |
